Family Therapy for Communication, Connection, and Healing in Albany, CA

Family therapy provides a safe and supportive space for families to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and work through difficult life transitions and relational challenges together.

Are you a teen struggling to communicate with your parents? Or are you a parent feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to help your child or teen? Often, parents seek therapy for their child or for themselves in hopes of improving the family dynamic, but relational problems within families are rarely one-sided. While individual therapy can be very helpful, family therapy is often most effective when family members work together to better understand one another and create healthier ways of relating and communicating.

Family relationships naturally change over time as children grow, mature, and move through different developmental stages. Families may also face challenges related to parenting, adolescence, divorce, blended families, co-parenting, launching young adults into independence, or adjusting to major life transitions and changing family roles. During these times, families may feel stuck in painful cycles of conflict, misunderstanding, emotional distance, or disconnection.

Family therapy focuses on helping family members identify patterns that are no longer working and develop healthier ways of interacting with one another. Therapy may include improving communication, strengthening emotional safety and connection, establishing healthier boundaries and family roles, and learning how to navigate conflict in more constructive and supportive ways.

My goal is to help families create a more secure, connected, and emotionally supportive environment where family members can feel heard, understood, respected, and valued.
